Planning is a part of life. We plan our days, our years, our vacations, our careers…the list goes on. It’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day planning and focus only on what’s in front of us that we forget to do the most important planning of all: financial planning. If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that we never know what’s around the corner. You need a rock-solid plan to feel confident as you navigate life’s twists and turns.
But let’s be honest, the process can seem downright overwhelming. That’s where I come in. My passion is educating, empowering, and guiding you to make the best financial decisions leading you to the future you envisioned.
Why You Need A Partner
I firmly believe there’s a point in everyone’s life when you need a financial partner to help plan for whatever life throws your way; an objective third-party who deeply cares about you and has the knowledge and experience to guide you through decisions you didn’t realize you needed to make. I have firsthand experience watching someone I love avoid professional advice and suffer the consequences.
That’s what happened to my dad. At 35, he took a leap of faith, left his salaried job with benefits to start a business selling used hubcaps to the consumer cheaper than they could buy directly through the manufacturer. Fun fact: I was an unofficial “employee” of this business, and my brother and I would risk life and limb by jumping out of the car to pick up “inventory” off the side of the road. The good news is that his business was a success! He reached his goal of becoming a millionaire, but the story doesn’t end there. My dad felt he could figure out a lot for himself and didn’t want to pay a professional for something he could do. Do you see where this is going?
Long story short, my dad sold his business in the late ’90s when tech stocks were booming. He didn’t diversify his investments and lost half the proceeds of the business sale with one bad trade. His retirement now looks a whole lot different than he imagined.
The moral of the story is that you can’t put a price on the expertise and peace of mind that comes from working with a financial professional who has your back and wants you to succeed as much as you do. I only wish I had been able to help my dad before it was too late!
What I Do
Now that you know why I am passionate about what I do; how I can help you? My process starts with YOU. What’s your story, your goals, your problems, your vison for the future? We take the puzzle pieces of your life- benchmark where you are today, then create a road map and action steps to better position you for success. Simple as that. The plan changes as your life changes and we monitor your progress to keep you on track.
I am on the journey with you all the way through unlike other low-cost firms where you may have various advisors over the course of your life.
Who I Serve
My business is personal to me. I know my client’s situations intimately. While I serve a wide range of clients, my primary focus is women—female business owners or women with what I like to call “money in motion” from an inheritance, divorce, or widowhood. I love empowering women who haven’t taken the lead in their financial life and suddenly feel lost and confused while also walking through a major life change. I help them think through the financial decisions they currently face and those that will come up in the future. When it comes to female business owners, I help them calculate what they need to sell their business for in order to achieve their personal retirement goals.
Regardless of their background or what services they need, my clients do tend to have some things in common, namely that they are self-made, hardworking people. Think millionaire next door-type people who aren’t flashy but who are good stewards of their money and understand the value of a hard-earned dollar.
There is usually a catalyst that brings people to my office. It could be that they are nearing retirement and are worried they’ll run out of money. Maybe they’ve experienced an unexpected event and realize they need help getting their ducks in a row. Either way, they’ve come to a point in life where they want to delegate financial management to someone who will partner with them and put them first.
How I Can Help
There are plenty of financial advisors for you to choose from, but what sets me apart is the long-term relationship and personal touch I provide. I am accessible to my clients, and they appreciate the way I simplify complex financial concepts. I am a shoulder to lean on and a strong support when they are dealing with fear and uncertainty. I believe that careful planning can reduce stress thereby leading to a more carefree life.
I find no greater satisfaction than knowing I’ve helped make a difference in someone’s life. If you think I would be a good partner for your financial journey, I invite you to contact me to learn more about my unique approach to service, communication, and wealth management.
